Hello friends!
How are you? How was your week? I felt like I was out of town for work despite never stepping on a plane. I missed witching hour and bedtime shenanigans, truly. It’s weird.
I also spent the weekend with my sister and her family. We haven’t seen each other for two years because I lived overseas so it was delightful to hug, catch up, and cackle together. Truly, nobody cackles like the makeshift coven my three sisters and I make. It’s terrifying for our husbands…and that just makes us laugh harder. Anywho, feeling very tired but full after a family-filled weekend. A million heart eyes.
I thought it would be fun to share a few things I’ve been loving lately. You all know I love little things and can’t help but share stuff I love. Without further ado…
Caudalie Beauty Elixir face mist: Feel like a fancy lady, smells incredible. Refreshing, a smidge moisturizing and makes my skin glowy for several hours. A splurge for sure.
Kate Baer book cover postcard print: so pretty and the poems wreck me
Alex Mill cable knit sweater: Wear it every day, it’s worth every penny.
Pilot G-2 pens: perfect consistency for my miniature chicken scratch. I love my handwriting with these pens.
True lemon singles: makes me drink more water.
It was hard to keep this list to five. Might have to pop these favorite things lists in more often. Would you be into that??
Maybe one of my all-time favorite books
Thanks to Jillian’s newsletter, I bought Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow on my Kindle. PEOPLE. This is book is SO GOOD. I don’t know how to put into words how much I loved this book. It’s about video games, companionship, deep friendship, chronic pain, LA, cute Korean grandparents, loss, and the comfort we find in creating and falling into stories. It was deep and funny and tragic and sweet. The pacing was INSANE, like, so so good. Like, you turn the page and you’re like, oh wow, that did happen. The characters will never leave me. I know this is a book I’ll be thinking about for years to come. Even if you don’t care about video games at all, I think you’ll enjoy this book. It helped me understand my husband’s deep, philosophical love of gaming so much more.
The author wrote The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry, so if you’re in that, know you’re in for a treat. This is even better. I seriously do not know how people write books like this. What a gift. I’m literally writing an email to say thanks to Gabrielle Zevin, that’s how much I loved it. I am in awe. People are insane! (Update: Get the freak out of here! Somebody made Emilyblaster!! I love the internet.)
Hope you have a good week. What are you working on? What’s making you happy right now?
P.S. That PMS gummie vitamin was vile. Couldn’t hack it.
